Brookfield Campus Restoration Project

As part of Phase One of our multi-year campus renovation campaign, new picnic tables and stools were design and fabricated for the Center by several local artisans. Sponsored by a grant from the Meserve Memorial Fund, four tables and six-teen handmade stool were produce. The tables were designed and fabricated by James Schriber of New Milford; and the matching stools were created by Jeffrey Havill and Bob Kluge of Bethlehem.

This Winter Phase Two of our multi-year campus restoration campaign continues. Goals for Phase Two are to:

[ ] Winterize the Weaving Studio Cottage
[ ] Reside and insulate the Barn Building Studios
[ ] Continue our Master Landscaping Plan

The planned improvements will integrate the concepts of our historic mill site and fine contemporary crafts; and they have been designed to highlight our magnificent riverside setting overlooking the Still River at Halfway Falls. Phase III projects will include an outdoor classroom with masonry walls in the shape of a mill wheel, new decks, hand crafted garden furniture and trellises, hand forged wrought iron railings and an exciting new entrance/gateway design. The Center has already received generous support from the Lynn Tendler Bignell Foundation, The Meserve Memorial Fund, The Home Depot and more than 400 generous individuals who contributed to this exciting restoration project. We invite everyone interested in historic preservation and fine craftsmanship to contact us at 203-775-4526 to explore ways they can help.
